The 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs were introduced by Intel last week on Thursday during launch week, and the new processors helped the blue team continue to dominate AMD’s brand-new AM5 CPU platform. With sales that were more than five times higher, the LGA 1700 socketed platform was able to surpass the AM5 platform. This was partly because the new chips represented an excellent bargain when compared to AMD AM5 chips, which call for customers to replace everything from motherboards to memory kits, while 13th Gen consumers can just slip a new chip into their old LGA 1700 socket and call it a day.  https://twitter.com/TechEpiphany/status/1584311412360646657 However, 12th Gen Alder Lake CPUs, which were offered at discounts long after the debut of the 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs and accrued the majority of sales, also contributed to the increase in LGA 1700 sales. The Core i5-12400F, which sold 260 units overall, was the most popular Intel CPU at MindFactory, Germany’s largest store. The Core i9-13900K sold an outstanding 250 units. With sales of 160 units, the 13600K earned third place. With just 320 CPUs sold over the same week, AMD’s AM5 platform ranked in third, much behind Intel’s 1745 sold processors. The Ryzen 5 7600X, which sold 120 units, was followed by the Ryzen 7 7700X, which sold 110 units, and lastly the Ryzen 7950X & 7900X, which sold 50 units, for the top AM5 CPU sales. However, the powerful AM4 platform, which outsold LGA 1700 and AM5 platforms by a factor of more than ten, continued to dominate the market despite Intel and AMD’s most recent platforms (LGA 1700 & AM5). The Ryzen 7 5800X3D was the most popular chip on the site, with over 1000 units sold, while the AM4 platform had a total of 3940 CPU sales during the same week. The Ryzen 7 5800X and Ryzen 5 5600 both sold more than 500 units, which is excellent and demonstrates that the AM4 reduced chips provide considerably better value for gamers and budget builders than Intel & AMD’s new offers. The incredibly astounding AM4 platform numbers have also led AMD to decrease the number of AM5 Ryzen CPUs built using the Zen 4 core architecture. To increase AM5 sales, the company plans to release Non-X Ryzen 7000 CPUs and X3D (3D V-Cache) components in the early CES 2023.
