We get to see a supercut of Basim’s life before he joins the order of the Assassins. He’s a pretty thief on the streets of Baghdad and later he rises through the ranks as he journeys to become a Master Assassin as he takes out corrupt enemies of the order. It’s pretty evident that this is a prequel to the events of Valhalla, breaking down Basim’s life and the deeper meaning behind the character as a whole. What we got to observe was that the main voiceover character in the trailer is the voice of Shoreh Aghdasloo, from the Expanse, Destiny, and Mass Effect. She’ll be playing the role of the character, Roshan who’ll serve as Basim’s mentor and initiator into the Assassin community. Roshan is intended to be Persian, as is Aghdashloo. The trailer features Basim engaging in fights and performing parkour maneuvers and the trailer ends with Basim removing his finger to complete his initiation as one of the Assassins. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is one of Ubisoft’s highly anticipated entries into the franchise. Though information regarding the game has been pretty dry, leaks have satiated the fans’ need for news as one user posted some artwork for the game.
Ubisoft Confirms Assassin’s Creed Mirage Amidst Artwork Leak
The images below have been buzzing all over social media platforms since Thursday morning. There’s a good chance they may have been initially published by Twitter user @ScriptLeaksR6, who has a reputable history of Rainbow 6 leaks. The Ubisoft Store seems to be the source of the artwork. At least that is what has been claimed. What makes the whole ordeal more interesting is that Ubisoft has apparently started removing the images from social media. “This image has been removed in response to a report from the copyright holder.” is what shows in their place now. Although this is not 100% confirmation that the images are legit, it does make it persuasive to be the case. Why would the company take official steps to remove the images from the web if they weren’t the real thing, right? For the sake of discussion, let’s say the images are genuine. This would suggest that Ubisoft is planning to release a DLC quest based on none other than the folktale Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves for the undisclosed yet highly awaited Assassin’s Creed Mirage. It was claimed just earlier this week that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be the next major debut in Ubisoft’s long-running series. Of course, this claim has not risen out of thin air. It has been backed up by many reliable journalists including Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who was the first one to report that Ubisoft was planning to release albeit smaller-scale, but a lot more stealth-focused Assassin’s Creed game which is closer to the initial series entries rather than the RPG-influenced versions released in recent years. Featuring the much-admired Assassin’s Creed Valhalla character Basim, the title was originally supposed to serve as an expansion for the most recent series entry before being molded into a standalone game just last year. The development is being led by Ubisoft’s Bordeaux studio and according to reports, Assassin’s Creed Rift is to be set in the Middle East. Baghdad to be more specific. Bloomberg’s latest reports unveil the fact that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be released in spring 2023.
